changing meter setting on C2000z

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Does anyone know if you can change the meter setting (from average to spot metering) on the Olympus C2000z without using the LCD menus. On the Nikon 950, you have to use the LCD and it could take quite a while. Is there an easier way with the Olympus C2000z?

Thanks, Dan

This is going from memory, so I could be wrong, but I'm pretty certain you can. The user interface is pretty cryptic, but if you hit "menu" with the LCD off, the top-panel readout starts blinking one of its icons. - This is effectively a "cursor" on which function you can change. You can step through this "menu" using the rocker control the same as you would on the LCD screen, and select a number of the camera functions, one of which I (think) was the metering mode. Still takes a while, but at least you don't have to power-up the LCD screen to do it.
