The whole issue of Y2k and the electric industry is really an exercise in personal risk management. I've said before that Y2k impacts to power will probably play out over time (no "big bang" on 01/01/2000), and will be very regional in nature.

Many people have asked me how to conduct a risk assessment to suit their personal needs in their local area, so, I've taken a stab at creating a generic method to do this assessment.

I've prepared a short whitepaper and questionnaire for anyone who desires to conduct a personal risk assessment regarding Y2k and power in their local region. Please consider the questionnaire as a "work in progress" - if you have any suggestions, I'd be pleased to incorporate them if appropriate.
