Delivery of CoolPix 950's?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Has anyone in the U.S. taken delivery of production CoolPix 950's yet? I ordered from Egghead on April 6 (snuck in real quick right after the price went down to $770 for the /second/ time), and the order status has said "in process" ever since.

Egghead, btw, is really weird with pricing. I had ordered (and received in two days) a Lexar 64Mb CF from them for $165 plus shipping, but since then the price has varied everywhere between $170 and $200. So it's not just their camera prices...

I got my 950 from Club Mac on April 20th. I paid a bit more then I wanted to but it has turned out to be well worth it. So far I am finding that the camera is much better then I thought it ever could be. Ill never have to use film again.

PC Connection has it in stock (as of 4/28/1999). Check it out.

Brad, I'm in the same boat.Cancelled my order with ON SALE to get in on the $770 deal. The best that I have been able to glean is the Egghead folks are telling people that they are getting a new shipment on friday and should be shipping on Monday. I hope it workes out that way and that I have not outsmarted myself.

On the Egghead topic, apparently they use a pricing 'bot to set their web prices to the lowest of whatever it finds out there. As others prices fluctuate, theirs do too, often by hundreds of dollars in a day(!) If its any consolation in waiting for the $770 price, that's * quite* a bit lower than dealers pay. (AFAIK, Egghead's losing money on every one they sell at that price!)
