Tom Clancy's take on Columbine

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Tom Clancey has an article today in the LA Times regarding the Columbine shooting and the efforts to make "anti-gun hay" from it.

It's not particularly good (IMO), but at least a high-profile person is speaking against the flow. I imagine he'll be marginalized like Heston.

When you read Clancy you become aware that he has what Rand called "a benevolent sense of life." His heroes are basically "good" by the standards most Americans "know" good to be. I haven't read it but he would likely be on the correct side of the issue but for something less than the "proper" reasons. Nonetheless he is an excellent writer and someone that commands my respect.
