Were shooters in CO homosexuals?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I'm surprised no one has seemed to ask or investigate this question, considering all the press earlier this year in Wyo.

I live in Denver area and watched coverage as breaking news on Tue, and I remember the fourth or fifth student interviewed claimed that one shooter was a member of the "Trenchcoat Mafia" and said it was some kind of weird, dark, homosexual club. Yes, I remember he did use the "homosexual" word.

Last night I saw the most recent picture of the Harris boy and if you were looking for it you probably say the little gold earing in his left ear, which I always associated with being gay.

Just a question that nobody, especially the national media is mentioning. Me wonders.

Before everyone yells OT OT OT, I would just like to point out that if the media refuses to report all the information, and maybe thats not what's going on -- I'm just curious-- on the shootings because it might give gays "bad PR", then what will the media withhold on Y2K because it would not be "helpful" to disclose.

Still, just asking the question. No strong conclusions yet

Jim,

An earring in the left ear means nothing except he has bad taist. The saying goes "Left is right and Right is wrong." Its the right ear to be watching. Bulldog

Isn't it interesting that we live in a time when we believe the media refuses to report all the information. Klinton sure as made a bed for himself and us too with that finger wagging statment and now the rest of America is paying for it in such strange ways.

And this question pertains to Y2K, how?

-- r (noway@noway.net), April 24, 1999.

It's a big world little r.

Early on in the reporting of this tragedy, those interviewed spoke of the gay connection. This was quickly excised from subsequent reports.

They say that Social Security is the "third rail of politics". Similarly, homosexuality is the "third rail of modern-day media reporting". HTH, Rich

I'm curious why would homosexuals be commenerating Hitlers b-day anyway? I thought he hated them as much as Jews?

-- Johnny (jljtm@bellsouth.net), April 24, 1999.

OK.. now because the poster believes the media might be ignoring what in the poster's mind is a significant issue, the issue beconmes Y2K grist. Well, how about another Monicagate comment? I haven't heard anything about Monica lately... could it be a cover-up job to protect Klintler? Doesn't this cover-up prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the tri-lateral controlled media is in bred :-} with the Klintmeister?

Sorry for appearing so sarcastic, I just get sooo tired. But I keep looking for the good things here. By the way, does this drivel get posted to the archives?

-- Uhm... (jfcp81a@prodigy.com), April 24, 1999.

I have been wondering about this coverup also. now if the killers had targeted just homosexuals, would the media edit that information also? the press keeps reporting the trenchcoats were harrassed by fellow students, but fails to report that most of the harrassment was about their sexual preferance. (kind of reminds one of the way they failed to report the fact that a copy of al gore's book was found in the Unibombers shack)

-- just wunder'n (me@hmmm.com), April 24, 1999.

most gay people I know are into Cher -- not Marilyn Manson !!

-- family (de@lurk.ing), April 24, 1999.

of course they were gay! it was reported that they "held hands openly in hallways" wasn't it? gay boy's are bent! their brain's are misfiring! think about it! what in the world would make a man want to "be with another man"? look at the way gays behave! the femine way they look and talk. it is SOOO sickining!

-- ed (edrider007@aol.com), April 24, 1999.

I heard the student say that also. The shooters were part of a group that posed thenselves as either gay, or bi sexual. Whether they were or not is anybody's guess. But they were being harassed by the jocks at the school,

One of the Trenchcoat Mafia murdered his mother last year, and then committed suicide.

The whole situation should have been nipped in the bud years ago.

Did you know that last year, in a video class, the two boys enacted what they actually did, made a video of it, and the teacher did nothing?

Where were the parents? Where was the school principal?

My daughter, a schoolteacher, said that a fellow teacher taught last year in Littleton, and knew the family of one of the boys. The parents were very permissive, she said, and were quite put off by the fact that she, the teacher, was a fundamentalist Christian..

The boys were "gothic" which is a style of dress, affectations, etc. current in some areas now. think "Batman" (which is on TV as I write this) The Adams Family, Dracula, Vampires, and a whole bunch of other disgusting stuff.

My kids are grown now, but we always had dinner together, and I like to think I knew what was going on, mostly.

My nomination for most wacked out conspiracy theory about Littleton. Somebody thinks Koskinen is hiding that Y2k gloom is what motivated the two students.

Were they gay? Do they have ingrown toenails? Did they have their tonsils removed?

Questions of equivalent weight....

Jim, you ought to get out of the house more.

-- Tom Carey (tomcarey@mindspring.com), April 25, 1999.

Yeah they did it 'cause they were gay. And 'cause they'd watched too much Batman, who also was gay; or at least he hung around in tights with his "ward" quite a lot. And Batman and Robin also wore capes - not entirely unlike the TRENCHCOATS that these gay goth murderers wore. Coincidence? I don't think so. And at the time of the killings, what were the whereabouts of Danny Larue, Liberace and Peter Allen? They were dead, that's where, just like the perp's now are. Coincidence? Don't be so naive. Maybe if we persecuted fags and wierdo's a lot more then they'd all be less likely to become deranged and strike back. ? ? ?

Mary I'm not trying to be argumentive, but I loved Dracula by Bram Stoker, and it is considered a classic of its kind, as is Mary Shelly's Frakenstein. I thought the Adams family was a hoot, when I used to catch snatches of it. My parents enocouraged me to read all different kinds of books, so as to have a more rounded view of literature and its history. I don't think that kind of literature is disgusting, nor was it meant to be; it's just different.

And if the boys were gay, why should they be ridiculed? And if they were only pretending to be gay, why should they be ridiculed? When I was in school, all the boys tried to look like James Dean. Most of the grils wanted to be like the perky Debbie Reynolds or Annette Funicello (sp). They were just too cute for me, I preferred the sexy looks of Rita Hayworth. (sigh) Yikes, am I that old????

But my point is this, I don't think we can blame any one thing. But while watching the news about it on TV last night. My young neighbor came over and she said she had graduated from a small school and had lots of friends. But when they moved here, (a much larger school) her sister was beginning her first year of high school and her life was miserable because she had no friends. Everyone had their cliques. And newcomers, unless their parents were wealthy, or professionals, or faculty members, were ostracized. She said her sister cried often, and gained weight.

She dreaded going to college too. But once in college, where she was accepted and made friends, she had no problems. But she hated high school.

On Talk Back Live, there was a note from a man that said he could have been those boys becaue he's been so ridiculed and tormented in school; several people have said this. This in no way excuses what they did. Many kids have miserable lives and never do this sort of thing. But I think parents should teach their children never to tease another person on account of looks, size or any other reason.

Several years ago I read a book entitled, "Permissive Parents-Violet Children," and it was very critical of the "never say NO" atmosphere in which children are raised. It stressed that parents should be parents not best friends.

This is also a school where Sports are King.

-- gilda (jess@listbot.com), April 25, 1999.

That should have been Violent Children not Violet Children. After having typed "violet children", I'll probably be accused of making a Freudian slip, and no doubt Jerry Falwell wil say Tele-tubbies were the cause of the tragedy, but actually I'm just a poor typist.

-- gilda (jess@listbot.com), April 25, 1999.

Just some thoughts...

In my opinion it is not okay to ridicule gays, or teens who get pregnant, or anyone else. It doesn't matter what problem a teen has, RIDICULING and HECKLING is not the answer. It breeds hate, not reform. What do you really want to accomplish?

I think we should be stricter with our kids. I was strict with my daughter and now she thanks me. However, I AM NOT a religious fundamentlist. I am a Christian.....If you are into labels. And if I had found out that my daughter was ridiculing a group, I would have been appalled. It is NOT consistent with love, which is the definitive mark of a true Christian, according to the Bible.

There is NO excuse for what these 2 kids did, BUT the answers, I believe, lies in teaching kids how they are valuable, accepted, and loved in our society. We were created to have MEANING and PURPOSE in life. We were also created with God-given needs that must be met in order the grow and mature. One way or another, teens will seek to get these needs met. Each teen is different. We may have to actual spend time learning how to reach them...

I could go on and on, BUT human beings have a "spiritual" side. Animals do not. Dogs don't throw down their bone and say, "Is this all there is to life".... We have lost touch with the spiritual which gives meaning and purpose. I believe we are beginning to wake up to the fact that something is missing........

No, to the best of my knowledge the two assailants were not homosexuals. They were often accused of being gay though.

-- Joe Six-Pack (Average@Joe.Blow), April 25, 1999.

As if it makes a difference.

The real common denominator is that they were white, let's persecute all whites, that'll stop any more killings.

(that was sarcasm for all you literalists out there)

The other real common denominator is the high level of INTOLERANCE, endemic within the USA social structure, exhibited and enacted toward anyone or any group who isn't like ME or I don't belong to.

We are technological barbarians.

-- Mitchell Barnes (spanda@inreach.com), April 25, 1999.

Settle down people.

I just asked a question. Is it so bad to ask for information? I know it wasn't exactly a PC question, but I was just curious.

If some of you had read my question thoroughly, you should not have assumed I did believe they were gay. All I'm saying is shouldn't the media confirm or deny this component? If they were there to simply report... Yes, and if..., well, Wyoming comes to mind.
