Dow Jones Investment Advisor Mag - March Issue

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I haven't seen it mentioned here, but the Dow Jones Investment Advisor, a trade publication for financial advisors, devoted their entire March issue to Y2K. Like Wired, it has a black cover - with a computer face with a frown, and the word "Blackout": Where will you - and your clients - be if the lights go out?

The articles (I've read several, scanned the rest) seem as though they could have been written by GI's on this forum. I was amazed to find this degree of candor in something called "Dow Jones Investment Advisor." They also have a website: link

Check it out. Give it to your DWGI friends and relatives.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Two more U.S. forest and paper companies reported better-than expected first-quarter profits Wednesday, continuing the trend of positive earning surprises from an industry that has suffered from paper-thin profits.

Shares of Kimberly-Clark , the maker of Kleenex tissues, Huggies diapers and several brands of toilet paper, vaulted to a year high after company posted 41 percent jump in quarterly profit to $403.7 million, or 75 cents per share, from strong profits in both its tissue and personal care businesses.
