There4s one thing I can4t understand !

How could Thomas Andrews not even try to save himself ?

Didn4t he think of his family ?Didn4t he love his wife and daughter ?(

Actually another question:

What became of them after the disaster.When did they know for sure that Thomas was dead ?

Perhaps there4s someone out on the net who can answer my questions and tell me his thoughts.

I can't speak for the historical Thomas Andrews, but it seems to me that the T. Andrews from the movie was absolutely devastated by what was happening. Titanic was his "child" (pardon the metaphor) and he believed in her strength and safeness. But even so, he had wanted more lifeboats and was overruled. So perhaps he blamed himself for the fact that over half the people on the ship were going to die-- making him not care about saving himself. Perhaps the guilt was too much. Of course, this is only my observations on the movie Andrews.
