i am somewhat confused: in different books of the Bible the list of the tribes of Israel change: in some Levi is missing, in others Dan is missing, in others Shimeon is missing...why the change?

Answers

Often due to the Reformation many bibles have been printed to suit the political times. Also typos are very common. As Roman Catholic I trsut the Vulgate as being the fully accepted text of Chrsitianity.
