How do you respond when asked to prove the Bible is indeed an inspired work of God?

Faith plays a big part, Believing that Christ left His Church the power to act in His name. The Catholic Church grants that the Scriptures are true and inspired by God. The Scriptures come to us through His Catholic Church. I will look for some material on the inspiration of Scripture and post a followup.

Brandi: if you are looking for a scientific proof you'll never get one. Inspiration is a matter of faith. nevertheless you can think about these points:

1- I God exists he can manifest himself to humans in any way he chooses.

2- If he wishes to *inspire* someone to write what he wants to communicate he is free to do so.

3-in the OT there appeared many people who claimed they were sent by God to give his messages. They were generally honest and sincere people so that you can trust them.

4-the same is to be said of the writers of the NT.

5-the prophecies of the OT were fulfilled in Christ. So how could those prophets know many centuries in advance what was going to happen if they were not inspired by God?

6- the writings of the OT came from an insignificant people (politically speaking, with no power, no philophers greek-style, no influence on the great empires of that epoch, no trascendent in historical events, etc.) how could then those writings become so important as to change together with the writings of the NT the history of mankind? was it only through human factors or was some divine force at work? and there is no reason to
