am i becoming middle of the road?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Talk back to the Brain : One Thread

So when I was in college, I had a very wide array of musical tastes, and I had an extreme dislike to anything mainstream. I'm gonna' be 28 this year and through I still have a wide array of musical tastes, that wide array includes Sheryl Crows' new CD, Everclears' last CD, Jordan Knight's song (it's embarrassing - I know- but that is a pretty funky baseline) and I've recently had uncontrolable urges to burst into All Night Long and DeBarges' Rhythm of the Night? What the hell is happening to me?!?! Am I maturing, or are my tastes declining as I live on? Has this happened to anyone else or am I the only one dealing with this. Please advise before I buy a Shania Twain CD! HELP!!!!!!!

As long as you aren't putting Sheryl Crow on the Hall of Fame, then you're okay. As long as you're still listening to funk more than you listen to DeBarge, you're okay. I don't know if growing up changes your musical tastes or not, but who cares? You don't have to make anyone happy but yourself. Life without guilty pleasures ain't no fun. And specialization is for insects.

Yeehaw, frosty mug.
