We have government spokespeople flagrently lying about'mission critical' systems being repaired, and about how all will be fixed by such and such date, and oh if y2k is a problem it will just be two or three days of disrtuptions. What do you think will happen when seed companies are unable to deliver seed to farms and food can't be transported due to lack of oil? What about when the food chain breaks down? Can you say FAMINE? MASSIVE FAMINE? Think it can't happen? Ever seen pictures of those starving people in Africa or Bosnia? IT WILL HAPPEN HERE! THE ATTEMPT AT FIXING BORKEN CODE HAS FAILED! IT HAS NO HOPE OF BEING FIXED IN TIME!! READ BETWEEN THE LINES AND USE YOUR HEADS HERE PEOPLE-THERE IS NO WAY THAT THIS IS GOING TO BE LESS THAN A 9 OR 10 NOW. WE HAVE NO HOPE-IT IS EVERYONE FOR THEMSELVES FROM HERE ON OUT!!! the recent senate report basically said that we're going down-WE ARE DOOMED! Clinton's silence is deafing on this issue, everyday looks worse. READ BETWEEN THE LINES AND USE YOUR HEADS HERE PEOPLE!!! The rest of the world is still in the awareness phase(no more imported oil for a long, long time). We are headed for a new dark age which will make Road Warrior and the Middle-age plauge of the Black Death look like a preschool picnic by comparison. Our cities will resemble the burned-out urban war zones of Sarajavo and Beiruit. Western Civilization is in the twilight of a thousand year reign. I predict BILLIONS DEAD that's right BILLIONS DEAD due to supply chain and domino type failures. The only people who survive are those who prepared and have enough firepower to keep it. I, too, have been concerned with the "Borken Code" problem.

"Waldo" Borken was a secret plant by the former Soviet Union in the highest levels of American IT circles. It is Borken who hogtied the corporate bean counters and purse snatchers and convinced them not to repair the 2-digit date fields in older VAX code. From there, the problem multiplied (just like Chinese food joints in strip malls) into the present gargantuan civilization-killer.

But it gets worse. Borken was playing us all for fools -- the commies included.

He was actually an alien. He tested a mind-control ray, reflected off the plasma field of a comet, on the members of the Heaven's Gate cult. There are rumors -- unsubstantiated -- that he used it later in Washington, but as the collective IQ there has been below measurable parameters for some time, it was very difficult to determine the effect.

I have been talking to the top people at Fortune 999 companies (#1000 says the jury's still out; they expect the clever application of hammers and electricity to solve the problem), and they're all in a state of panic over Borken's influence. The FBI, NASA, CIA, HEW, and DAR all know of this, too, and are participating in the most massive coverup in history.

Borken was last seen eating a Big Mac in Monterey, just before boarding what eyewitnesses described as a "large mauve clamshell with drillbits and cattle prods" which disappeared instantly. The shaken observers said they his maniacal cackle echoes for several seconds afterwards. Truly spooky.

Hmm, sounds like my thought train a few years ago when I suddenly realized all the interconnections in our society. That's when I started looking for some place to move out of the city. If it is going to be as bad as you just described, what makes you think you could possibly survive that? Trust me, it aint gana be THAT bad. I believe society will endure some changes and experience a SHOCKING reality check, but WE WILL SURVIVE! I'll admit, it is possible some people may end up dying, (without electricity, life will be ALOT harder) but if your will to survive is strong enough and you still have faith in the Almighty, and you have friends, family and neighbors by your side - you'll be alright. But one last thought for everyone concerning death. If this really is meant to be the downfall of mankind, why worry about it? Don't be afraid of death. I'm not because I believe God is a loving being and I have nothing to fear.
