Olympus epic limited edition

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I've heard conflicting reports of the color availability of the Olympus epic limited edition camera. One posting reports it being black with gold lettering and another states it's a matte bronze body. Can someone please clarify this for me as it is not available in Canada and I'm considering ordering one through a mail order company. Thank you.

i was told by one store (i didn't cross check) that the "limited edition" was bronze only. i didn't want the date back anyway and got the black original instead.

The Stylus Epic Limited has gold letters/logo/focus ring on matte bronze body. I bought one at local store. It has a lovely waist pouch which I use and a leather strap which i do not use. Overall all it gives much warm feeling than the black one. The panorama and date back are standard which I do not bother to use.

Kenny,

I bought my black unit from you and I get a really warm feeling just looking at the beautiful photos my Epic and I make together. However, I have not seen the limited edition advertised anywhere. I'd like to get a second unit and that one sounds interesting. Where did you buy yours and what's the cost? fredrick@hoycity.com

The Limited Edition is currently sold at $ 120 at Ritz, including leather pouch, 2 straps and battery packed in a numbered golden box.

The body has a dark metallic finish, which appears to be either black or dark burgundy depending on the light. Absolutely sharp!

All letters, buttons and the little plate around the lens are golden.

Yes, it comes with a data back, which can be turned off. The total store price equals more or less the mail order price.

I bought one for my wife. She carries it everywhere now. The picture quality can almost measure with my SLR and a 35mm lens. Considering the main rules, AF and AE are always right on.

This is the BEST P&S we have ever owned!!!
