Response from Kevin Dickey from Contra Costa County Informations Systems

Morning Daren.

Again, it was my pleasure to meet with this group. I applaud your efforts to get the community prepared. We have arranged for Contra Costa TV (CCTV) to broadcast three Y2K panel discussions open to public call-in (Q & A). The first forum is set for April 26th, at 7:00. The panelists come from HazMat (Hazardous Materials), County OES (Office of Emergency Services, under the County Sheriff), Health Services Biomedical, and myself. Steven Steinbrecher, the County CIO, will moderate the panels.

We are attempting to get panelists from the private industry for a May presentation using the same format. But so far, we have not had anyone confirm participation.

And then, in July (or May, if no private participation), we'll want panelists from the community help groups such as American Red Cross, and community groups likes yours. Would anyone from your group want to participate?

More information can be obtained from the County website's Year2000 section next week (I'll have it posted by then) at:

Thanks again for the recognition. Kevin.
