How to get papers on a kitten I purchased

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Maine Coon Cats : One Thread

I purchased a Maine Coon kitten from one breeder about 4 years ago. I got the papers mailed to me, as promised upon receipt of proof of neutering. About 2 years ago, I purchased another kitten from a different breeder, because I was looking for a specific color the first breeder didn't have. As of this moment, I have not received any papers on this kitten. I sent the proof of neutering as promised, and I have written and called several times, to no avail. The last time I called, the breeder got quite irate with me. What recourse, if any, do I have ? I love my M.C.'s, but for the money I spent, I want their papers ! Can you offer any suggestions ? Thanks !

For the past 4 years, I have brought a siamese cat and also sent her the proof of neutering and did not hear anything. I also kept calling her, then see just got a little irate with me, and I just said the hell with it. I don't have any paper for my siamese but I have proof that I brought him. My other siamese and maine coon I have papers for them.

Maybe you can call up the place where you got the papers from the other one (the blue form) and see what happens.

Hello, You must first check your signed-by-breeder contract to see what is written about the return of the papers once conditions are met. If you have fulfilled the conditions set forth by the breeder in her contract and nothing is forth coming in a timely fashion, and the breeder is an MCBFA member, I would feel free to file a comlaint with the MCBFA complaint committee headed by Heidi Oliveri, sposy@aol.com. If she is not a MCBFA breeder then any sort of legal action on your part is warranted provided you have a signed contract with her stipulations about the registration papers that have been fulfilled by you and not been fulfilled Good luck
