I consider any media which even hints, let alone says, that there are likely going to be problems both in this country and in others, as a positive thing. I'm really glad to see both CNN's article and news of SCIENCE's article. They may be understated but at least they are public.

i notice that the senator called y2k businesses "fear-mongers and profiteers". that's interesting. i note that the church he belongs to, the mormon church, is helping their members stock up on 1 year's worth of food supplies inpreparation for y2k. does that mean they are fear-mongers too? are all the walmarts, sam's club, and true value stores fear-mongers too, because they have all these extra supplies for me to buy? or are they just businesses responding to a legitimate demand? in my opinion, this is the dumbest thing the senator has said yet.
