"Blast From the Past" prep flic

My sister just told me about a "preppers" movie.

"I should take you to see the movie "Blast from the Past." It's about a family that spent 30 years in a bomb shelter. Talk about "stocking up"! This guy re-created his his house underground. As well as a grocery store, etc. And a fish pond. Amazing."

Anybody else seen it?

Have not seen it (waiting for video). Major reviews of Blast From The Past have been quite positive. Brendan Fraser is always very good at this sort of young male naif (cf. "Encino Man", "George of the Jungle") and Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek are both old pros who can take this sort of fluff and give it some zip.

PG-13, which means my whole family is looking forward to seeing it. Any movie where the teen protagonist says "Sir" and "Ma'am" and isn't made to look like a dork or a loon gets our vote!

And now, Mac will actually close that hotlink...

Tah-dah! (slinks away...)

Saw it a couple of weeks ago. There are a couple of gems like marine batteries for power and other things for the observant. Other than this it was a pleasant little escapist film. Christopher Walken was a hoot and I think a few on this list would/could relate to his thought processes.
