process for creating photos for real estate web sitegreenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread |
I'm looking for a convenient way to take web-site quality pictures of interior rooms and external views of resort properties. Most important is the ability to take and process a lot of pictures in a short time and post them to a web site (http://www.rentabeach.com). The pictures currently on this site were taken with a single lens SLR, scanned, and enhanced with photo editting software. I need a faster process and wider-angle pictures. Any suggestions on what process and hardware would work best?

for interiors, you need to have the 35mm equal of a 18mm lens. I used to use a Olympus D600-L, which you can pick up for around $600.00 to $700.00, and a add on lens from Porters Camera in Cedar Rapids Iowa that will get you there. Very clean images and the semi fisheye add on lens adds a bit of barrel distortion, but it is acceptable. This rig will also work for you if you want to do QTVR panoramas.Good luck,

Porter's camera is in Cedar Falls, IA not Cedar Rapids.

Thanks for the help. I ended up choosing a Kodak DC210+ for $450. It has a good wide angle view and a 2x zoom. I also bought a 30MB compact flash card for $99 which allows me to take over 200 pictures and then transfer them in seconds to my hard drive.
