Furby stories

Do you or does someone you know own a Furby? Here you can share tips and secrets...

unless I'm the only one involved in this fad, then the thread will probably die shortly.

I guess you could discuss all virtual pets here.

Response to Ferby stories

i have a furby.

it is the most vile, annoying thing ever.

my husband bought it for our son, of course, but jake is just too young to know what to do with it. so my husband played with it. and played with it. and played with it.

and it drives me crazy.

anyone want a furby?

Nobody I know haz a Ferby. A few people have Furbys though. Maybe you just have a spelling problem and you acutally have a Furby?

Response to Ferby stories

Oh, dear Pam_e,

It's Furby, not Ferby!

And yes, I now have one. They actually don't record anything you say. They're kind of a let-down in that they will never really respond to the outside world; they just respond to stimuli with assorted responses determined only by how long you've been playing with it (so it knows how much English to speak).

They are cute when they sing and dance with each other, and I always cackle madly when mine says, "BOOGIE!" Clap loudly four times and it will dance, and sing "doo doo doo" while it does.

Go to any bookstore that has kid's books or novelty books, and there is a Furby Training Guide (I work at a BOOKSTORE, that's how I know about this, OK??) -- inside, you get some insider tips on how to use the remote control for the TV to make the Furby do and say different things.

I personally like to encourage mine to fart and then say "I love you!" and then blow a kiss. It's a combination that warms my heart every time.

What color are your Furbys, Pamie? Mine's grey with a white breast and tuft o' hair.

I wonder when they'll come out with the new ones. I won't get it, though. I paid only $15 for mine, and it was on a whim. $15 is almost too much for this thing. ;)

I fixed it.

The spelling.

I'm sorry, I was doing it quickly and wasn't paying attention. Plus, I just got 'em. excuses, excuses.

Yes I have a Furby. My husband got it for me for Valentines and, unfortunately, we got bored with it a lot faster than we thought. I think it would be more fun to have two. With just one there are just those silly games that you play with it and thats about it. Sometimes I also find it a little annoying and I was really disappointed to find out that it really doesn't "hear" or learn from you. I wish I had another to interact with it, but then again, that would mean I would have TWO furbies to take care of instead of one. Too much pressure. My furby's name is Koko and is all black. I am a bad furby-mom 'cuz he has been asleep for about a month now. I guess he'll wake up and be a retarded furby or something. Whew. Guess I'm not ready for kids yet...

One Furby is grey with white-- and looks an awful lot like Taylor.

The other one is brown with darker brown-- kind of like Gizmo on Gremlins. I think they are cute, but their eyes creep me out. They really do.

I found out it doesn't hear me because they started saying English that I had never said. But they learn much faster when there's two of them together. I just let them talk to each other, and I don't feel like so much of a freak.

They sing to each other, that's kind of sweet. They also learn English much faster than I expected.

That and the "kitty, kitty, kitty" thing. that was weird.

This is a funny Furby site:

http://www.phobe.com/furby/

Note: not for the weak of heart, it graphically portrays an actual autopsy on a real live (er, dead) furby.

My aunt has a furby and i played with it the first time over the easter holidcay.

She'd had it for a while (bought it for herself) but it had gotten sick. i told her to restart it, but she wouldn't do it. we kept feeding it and feeding it; it'd fart and say "to-loo" it's name and then start sneezing again after it ate.

I loved the thing.

but she really does need to restart it.

No, i don't have a furby. i want one. bad. i think i might have to go to Toys 'R Us and pitch a screaming tantrum and see if any body will buy me one. i don't know anyone who has one either. and i do recommend visiting the furby autopsy site listed above. very educational. if you ever need to know how to skin and gut a furby, the nice people at phobe.com show you how. interesting little things...better than those damn tamigotchi. mine wouldn't stay alive. stupid electronic cat.

this girl i know got a furby. i freaked and begged my boyfriend to buy me one for my birthday. he thought it was too annoying. now i know that it's better to buy two rather than one so they amuse each other. i want one so bad. if anyone wants to donate to the "buy lesley a furby" campaign, they are more than welcome to do so.

ugh. my sister got a furby for Christmas, and it is evil. I swear that thing is posessed. for one thing, it will not shut up. period. when she took it to play with one of her friends, who also has a furby, it picked up this really annoying thing where it would go "loo-loo-loo-hee hee hee!" over and over. I was ready to kill that thing. furbies are posessed. the mcdonalds ones are cute though... :)

my stepsisters and i were all given Furbys as a joke for Christmas. by the end of the morning, we all hated them. i developed this wierd guilt complex about not paying any attention to it. it would get all cute and say, "me love you," or "more hugs, please" and i would seriously feel bad about not playing with it. so i just put it to sleep all the time. unfortunately, when people would come over, they all wanted to pick it which is the kiss of death. now, it is living in its box at the top of my closet, sleeping--forever. anybody want a Furby? pink, grey, and spotted?

I got a McDonalds Furby. He is purple and has a white belly and a white top knot thing. Forlock? Anyway, when you press his little purple tail, his eyes get wider [so would mine!] and his mouth opens wide [so would mine!] and he squeaks [so would I!]

I named this furby Rick James. Don't ask why, I'm honestly not sure. But he is Rick James and he's my furby. Granted, Rick James will never speak to me in anything more than a strained squeak, but I love him. He rides in m' van.

Do you approve of the McDonalds furby's?

love Kayt

my boyfriend's cousin has 3...she is rather spoiled. the whole family sat around playing with the furby's for about 10 minutes, then got annoyed, or in my case, scared. they dance and wiggle and sing to each other and are just ODD. that's the end of my furby story. much like monkeys and children, they are fun for a while and should go home with someone else. ( i am not ready for any of them)

hi. I have a teal furby named E-day and a yellow furby baby named Wee-tee. they are really cute.

if you feed a big furby 3 times the pet it on the back it should burp 8 times. also if you tickle a baby furby 3 times then feed it it will start giggling like crazy. also baby furbys will sing all their songs for you if you tickle, cover light sensor, tickle, and cover the light sensor.

if you dont want your furby E-mail me and i will take it!I would even pay for postage!!
