a@a.a thanks for posting this. I recently said to my husband, while discussing the Kosovo undeclared war, "What are we doing there? They must have something we want." Although we both feel the Butcher of Belgrade is just that, there are other butchers in the world that we scarcely bother to mention in a news brief, much less attack.

Natural resources were the real reason for the Viet Nam war, and this trillion $ mine just might turn out to be the real reason for this undeclared war. I truly think that Clinton is too unpopular, and his position too precarious, to be able to garner the amount of support for this attack that he has received, had there not been reasons other than humanitarian.

Follow The Money should always be the first thought of any investigative reporter. But the first thought of the media is always Ratings.

Just as Herbert Hoover is forever linked with the Great Depression, I think it's quite possible Billy Jeff will be forever linked with the Great Disruption.

If TSHTF in Jan. because of y2k, it will hit home in a personal way with all the Joe Sixpacks and Soccer Moms who voted him in twice. Fraternity house shenanigans in the Oral Office and video game war images from halfway around the world don't personally affect the average American schlub.

Even if the lights stay on and there's no water or food crisis, if the economy turns sour and many lose their jobs and it's impossible to gas up the SUV every other day, people will turn on Billy Jeff like hungry dogs on a T-bone steak.

I'm praying y2k turns out to be a bump in the road. But if it does turn bad, watching the public scream for Billy Jeff's head on a platter will be consolation.

I can say this because this has been king Clinton's M.O. since his days in Arkansas: blame every one else and claim he didn't know a thing about it until he reads it in the paper.

I don't think much of Sightings as a source for absolute truth so I got busy on dogpile.com and searched for TREPCA, read everything there was in English, since I don't know Greek or Japanese or Danish and whatever else that all those others were. Interesting. Found Vinnie Ferraro's site too. Didn't read the 1976 article from Minerology since that required $$ and I'm a cheap son of a gun. Also did a search on MYTILINEOS, that was interesting.

The most interesting was finding out that the whole Trepca/Kosovo link up was promulgated by Workers World on 6-30-98. If WW told me the time of day I wouldn't trust them. That said, did anybody notice that little trial ballon about Russia offering troops to secure the peace? hm... Make's my suspicous nature come out.

Let's see if I've got all of this straight. Clinton owes his Arkansas political existance to the Riadi family big time. Clinton destroys the ability to mine a particular type of low polution coal in the western states by proclaiming those certian areas un-minable, for the sake of the environment, the trees, Al Gore, and the bunny rabbits of course. It just so happens that the Riadi family owns the only other place on the planet that has that type of coal which gives them monopoly status. hmmm.... Okay so Clinton with Travelgate, and other actions has demonstrated clearly that he is willing to destroy peoples lives, reputations, and fortunes to financially help the people that are FOB (friends of Bill). So whose the FOB here, Russia?, some company somewhere? Riadis?

It looks like the Mytilineos family should have made a large contribution to the DNC in 1996 or 1998. Their mistake. Though their insurance company ECIO might take it on the chin.

All that said, it looks like one possibility might be that we destroy Milsovic's governance of Kosovo, the Russians volunteer for the sake of humanity to enforce the piece (oopps Freudian slip, I meant peace) in Kosovo, Mytilineos family can use their contract with Milosovic for wallpaper, and the WHO takes over the Trepca mines?

This seems like deja vu all over again to quote Casey Stangel. After the Gulf War some obscure little itty bity Texas oil company owned by some son of a Bush gets a concession for all of the exploration, drilling, and marketing of all of the oil in Bahrain. Just lucky I guess, right? Then there is the Congo with that one potato, two potato, three potato, who's got control of the mineral rights this month?

Good thing character doesn't count......

God help us all. But I don't think this is WW3. I think Russia and some FOB are going to control Trepca, at least based on what info is out there today.

Aren't typos fun? It looks like I'm predicting a rock group will sieze the Trepca mines! That "the" should have been a "then".

Anyway, nuclear war is bad for business and FOB's, so expect a loss of AMerican blood, money, and prestige but no nukes. My best guess as of 4-14-99 1:07 P.M Central time.

The real reason to bomb...the smart bombs won't work after y2k anyway. Kosovo situation has escalated to make us use "good" bombs...surprise. With the depleation of hard resources the DOD will be the poor orphans needing big $$ and both sides will be ready to give. The hugh amounts that will be necessary to build up the weapons will be exaggerated to help pay for the entirely new computer systems necessary to make DOD compliant.
