Looking for a good mail order vendor to buy nikon 950

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I am in the market to buy a Nikon 950. I have looked at CNET's site to get comparitive prices. Some of the prices are really low ($770). Does anyone know of a really good mail order house that has really low prices, good service, and you can trust them to get you what you ordered in one piece. I would like suggestions based on real experences.

Is there a good web site that rates on-line/mail order vendors?

Thanks for the help - Paul

www.cameraworld.com may not be the lowest, but reliable.

Cameraworld.com is asking list price. If I wanted to pay list price I would buy the camera at my local camera store. Wouldn't you?

I'm a big fan of NECX Try http://necxdirect.necx.com/cgi- bin/auth/manuinfo_q?key=NIKON+ELECTRONIC+IMAGING&nonce=guest and see the current price.

You still have to pay local tax!

My recommendation is to check out ssdonline.com. They are an advertiser with imaging resource. They have very good prices and plus you can get FedEx next day shipping for UPS ground price if you go thru the link at imaging resource. My experience with them buying an Olympus 400Z was very good. No pushy sales tatics to try to get you to buy other merchandise (batteries, charger, mem cards, etc.) like most others. Got my camera on time and I'm a happy camper. I'd caution you about prices that seem too good to be true, they usually are. They'll more than likely try to get you on outrageous S&H charges and to buy additional merchandise. Shop around but be careful.

Try www.pricewatch.com. They have pricing from many different retailers all on one page. Once you find a price you like, they have links directly to the seller's home site.
