Dust inside viewfinder lens?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

If I hold my camera at a slight distance and look through the viewfinder, I notice what seems to be dust specks on the lens inside of the viewfinder. Is this a normal? It is not so noticeable when looking through the viewfinder when taking a photo, but I just want to know what should be expected.

I would say its definitely not normal, although as you've noted, it probably isn't actually affecting your use of the camera. - Cameras should be assembled in very clean surroundings: I'd take dust anywhere inside one as a bad sign.
