Kodac DC210+ Any difference between medium and high res ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have recently bought a Kodak DC210+ with which I am very pleased. I do have one question though: It seems that the differnce in the details between "normal" and "high" resolution is minimal - even when I zoom in on the picture in an image-editing program. Is this normal ? I am sure that I am not making any technical mistakes.

It might be because the optic is not as good as the CCD - or maybe it is out of focus after I managed to drop the camere a few feet (in its case though !)....

Any remarks from other DC210 owners are welcome !

Thanks ! Anders Petersen

With many cameras, it's hard to tell the difference between the highest and next-to-highest resolution mode. WIth the DC210 in particular, it's fixed-focus zoom lens tends to be a bit "soft" when shooting objects at infinity. If your shots are taken of distant objects, you definitely won't see a difference between "best" and "better." Closer up (5-20 feet or so), you should be able to, but the differences may be subtle.
