Someone please help! I wrote to canon but didn't get a response yet. I have tried everything suggested to get the camera to work and download pictures with the software but no luck. Anyone with similar problems and/or more suggestions??

1. I have a serial mouse that i tried in the serial port i wish to use the camera in and it works fine so i am assuming the serial port is physically ok.

2. I have only a modem on com3 irq4 and then the serial port on com2 irq3. There are no device conflicts under resources tab.

3. Tried removing Com2 in windows and then reinstalling it after it reinstalled i checked it again and no conflicts and it said device working properly.

4. Tried reinstalling photoimpact software and the canon software.

5. Made sure correct com port and camera model was selected in software.

6. Made sure the cable connection was in the correct place and that the camera was set to PC. I have new battery in camera so there is power.

7. I don't see any symbol in both displays on camera saying pc or whatever to indicate it is connecting. The camera is set to PC.

8. Must have tried all these steps at least 6 times, All i keep getting is error messages when i try to aquire my pictures: a. Selected camera model not detected. Check selected camera model before reconnecting. b. The camera is busy. No response from camera. c. No camera detected. There may be a problem with the connection or camera is not ready.

9. Please help.
