April 7 — So here we are, less than nine months to the start of the dreaded year 2000. You’ve perhaps ignored, disbelieved, or already grown tired of the warnings about the inevitable Y2K problems ahead. But stay tuned a while longer. This is not something “someone else” will fix, and there’s still time for you to take preventive measures.

I found the contents in step 8 to be interesting:
"Of all the potential Y2K problems that may affect your family or place of business, far more will be solved or wont be solved through local decisions and local action than in the District of Columbia or even your state capital...On the personal level, if the government isnt going to fix Y2K problems for us and it wont weve got to tackle the challenges ourselves. Yes, its late. And yes, the task is daunting. But its time to get in touch with some of those community-organizing skills you used back in college and just after graduation. Remember the get-out-and-vote campaign? The petition drive to get that dilapidated playground fixed? The campaign for better late-evening bus service? You get the idea."

In case you're looking for another Y2k discussion board, I noticed that MSNBC has one at http://bbs.msnbc.com/bbs/msnbc-y2k/index.asp
