I need a camera for taking close-up pictures of jewelry... and I want to use it with a light box that has a constant light source... which digital camera would be the BEST choice for this type of application?? I have narrowed it down to the Olympus C-2000 & Nikon 950... but gotta pick one???

The Nikon 950 is an INCREDIBLE macro performer. It can focus on an object 2cm from the lens, and at full zoom. I'm not sure about the c-2000's macro, but I seriously doubt that it will meet or exceed the 950's abilities.

Our Oly C-2000 review is coming. "Macro" depends on how close you need to get. For really MICRO performance, nothing touches the '950. If you're shooting with strobes though, the Oly will give you finer control over lens aperture, maybe important. To get really close with the Oly will require add-on lenses though, and I don't know the current status of Oly's accessory lens adapter.
