Recipe: "Embedded Chip Soup"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Electric Utilities and Y2K : One Thread

In an effort to develop a warm and fuzzy relationship with non or ill prepared promoters of: No problem with Embedded Chips = Electricity, and being the compassionate person I am, I have developed this recipe so that these individuals will have food in 2000: 1/8 cup heavy crude oil for thickening - this amount should be 2 cups but there will not be enough crude oil to go around (other people will need soup, too.)

Salt and Pepper to taste (if you still have some in your house as you probably will not be able to buy them if food distribution is a problem.)

Put all ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil - oops, not sure how you can do that if there is no power or no delivery of natural or LP gas. Do you have matches and wood? Furniture burns well.

Simmer for 1 hr. or, in case you have no fuel of any kind, let the ingredients sit there while you look at this cold mixture for 1 hr.

Ladle into bowls. Take bowls outside and dump. Walk to nearest shelter and hope they have enough food for you.

I feel much better since I know I have helped these people to prepare. If anyone can improve the ingredients for this soup, I would be willing to revise recipe; I am all heart. Marcella P.S. I hope none of you have to eat this soup.

No thanks Marcella,

I prefer beer with the chips. It's a big party you know.
