Adapter to allow scanning of 35mm slides?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have a relatively cheap scanner but it has done everything I need of it well. I want to be able to scan 35mm slides with quality suitable for printing or using in presentations. Can I buy just an adapter of some kind for use with my current scanner or do I need to buy a scanner designed for that purpose?

Mark: You'll find the adapters produce pretty lame results. I bought an HP 6200csi with a slide adapter - and wound up throwing the adapter in the bin. I bought an HP Photosmart scanner - and the quality is superb. For impressive presentations I suggest a 35mm scanner. The HP is great - but I suspect the Olympus (comprably priced) is also very good.
