Uh, guys...

Has anyone checked on Tim May's comment? I find no news items for a New Mexico power outage, nor for a "Polar Foils Nuclear Power Plant." In fact, that looks suspiciously like a reference to "tinfoil hats" and other such looney paraphenalia. Methinks that Tim was yanking those folks' chains...

If you rearrange the letters in Polar Foils, you get...

"April Fools"

oooooeeeeooooooo

Just turned on Art Bell about 1225AM PST and he is having a terrrible time staying on the air because the power keeps popping on and off. Keeps losing his guest and he keeps wondering if they are doing Y2K testing. BTW, it is April 2 - is this what to expect April 9?

Now this is really getting weird. Just signed off after posting the oooooeeeeeoooooo post and way up here in Seattle area we had a power surge. Noticed the time and it was at 12:45 AM. Couple minutes later it was on the radio and they were checking into the cause of the power surge.think Y2K has got me paranoid!!! Maybe we won't even make it to the test on the 9th!!

Where I live, If I based my worries about Y2K on power surges, then Y2K has been an ongoing event for the last 35 years. We finally got smart and bought an APC battery pack surge protector, and now we don't lose everything once a week. Sometimes we have several in one day, or we lose power totally for a few minutes or seconds.

Yes, I know what it's like to live in a third world country....I have AmerenUE power.

I found Tim May's response pretty funny too.

I don't think 'a' is stupid enough to fall for anything that obvious. I think he was just passing it along as part of the joke.

Hey, It's the 5th now and the link is no good. Is there a way to find the link?
