I get up at 4am and STILL can't got on this forum. I hope its not the programmers that are supposed to be doing their thing that are on this forum. I don't believe its all us stay at home wives that are on here. It must be people at their offices that are getting on here too. Anywho..are there any other recommended forums that might take up the slack?

Got computer...got forum??

Sounds like your Internet Service Provider (ISP) - looks like AOL. While I do get "busy" messages throughout the day, I can usually get in from Mindspring and my hardwired connection at work. Even if you can get to some other web-pages, your ISP may be having trouble with the part of the 'net that this forum is on.

Taz, I believe A99 is right. I keep very strange hours and only have trouble at peak times, like when people are just getting to work, around lunch time, and when people are getting off work--after dinner too.

Taz, keep hitting your "Refresh" or "Reload" button. Give it about a minute between hits. You'll get back in :-)

I am sure that you are both right. And I am on AOL. But I am on AOL because I am computer stupid. So what do I do? I can get on at times through www. coolpages. And OCCASIONALY through the regular web site. So do I need to get off AOL and find another server? I tried this a couple of months aga and couldn't find one. (I live out in the sticks). If there is something I can do with what I have to work with, tell me which buttons to push and in order of pushing. Don't give me reasons. LOL

Got brains?? Can I have some of them?? I am truly a person in need!!

Here is a little tip to getting on this forum. If you can't get on the main page try using a thead link you have bookmarked from this site. It works for me.

Oh ya as to comparable forums, there are none that I know of that are as busy and informative as this. Went and lurked at the Comp.Software.Year-2000 and was not impressed. It used to be good over a year ago. Even Ed and Rick posted in there. Lots of informative stuff like here. Hope this forum doesn't suffer the same fate.

I went the Email route for months for prep info exchange because the S/ N ratio was so bad on the www. Here is the instuctions for the Elist I was at. Highly recommended. Not as busy as before but nice folk

Taz:

I have went several times to a chat room where the topic is y2k. It is sponsored by y2k News Magazine. It is:

www.y2knews.com/chat.htm

Sometimes its lively I think, and sometimes not so much. Sometimes the topic is y2k, and sometimes it drifts. :-)

I used to use Compuserve's explorer and got the Server Busy page frequently. Now that I'm using Internet Explorer I rarely get it. Don't ax me why.
