The local radio station had a Y2k article about our power plants. It seems they are all complaiant and Kentcuky will have power.(RIGHT!!!)

I went to the flea market yesturday and a man that sells barrels told me he usually had a lot of plastic barrel but since this ky2 thing, people are calling him at his home requesting barrels. I corrected him, Y2k, and he replied that he wasn't worried that it had been happening for 15000 years. (Some get it, some don't)

My daughter works at a Health Clinic. They have been trying to get the computers compliant for a long time. On Tuesday, some went live. Daughter said it was terrible. All appointments, manually entered on Monday night, were deleted. She experienced a situation where the woman had an insurance carrier listed that she did not know. People that were trying to pay bills were told they could not do so unless they had a statement, the accounts were wrong. Wrong information kept popping up on the screens.

She also said on the way to work she had to wait for a train. She said they train was carrying military vehicles and she said some were large square boxes like little trailors. She said there were a lot of those. (Internemnt camps? FEMA and Red Cross? Just moving military stuff around?)

I was at the Honda dealership on Saturday. In the summer of last year, when I was there they had 2 generators. I asked then if the store was selling more generators then before. The salesman said no and asked why. I didn't go into Y2k but told him he probably would be selling more. Over the past year, each time I go into this store there have been a few more generators. On my last visit, I was surprised to see additional shelving had been built to hold the 20+ generators. (Awareness)

With the exception of the radio piece, I do not read about Y2k in the papers nor hear of it much on tv. ( no informationn is good information, keep the herd calm)

It is the quiet before the storm. I am going tonight to buy more food.

P.S. As I reread this post, I realized that Y2k is happening, it has started. Like a silent thief in the night, it is closing in on us. Many expect a loud appearance and are not paying attention to slow, quiet, deadly force that is slithering amongst us today.

I checked out the WalMart this past weekend- they had two end caps full of dehydrators and beef jerky makers. (run on electric of course). Also- plenty of propane cylinders, but just the usual amount of oil lamps and lamp oil. I was amused by the dehydrators and beef jerky makers though- but didn't see any being sold...
