Indoor tomato trees and great buys on tuna. . .

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I've been perusing coupons more than usual lately and noticed an ad from a company in Pompano Beach, Florida that offers tomato trees for $4.95 a piece. Claims they will grow indoors or out. The ad says the trees are perennials and the concept comes from New Zealand.

Before I risk receiving a mail order weed that will die before it vines (Note: this is one of those "As seen on TV things.") has anyone had any experience with these?

Also--Bumble Bee albacore tuna in spring water (one of Cory Hamasaki's favorite pre-Y2K stock up foods because he says it's so solid you can grill it) on sale this week at Big Lots (if you have one) for 99 cents a can.

Got cats?

Cheers.

Let me know what you hear.

Sportsman's Guide sells small fruit trees that they say produce a lot. Anyone ever try them?

Hey FM!

The Michigan Bulb Co. is even better! Address: 1950 Waldorf NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49550-0500. They have INDOOR fruit trees, garden foods, apple trees, flowers, you name it. No e-mail address, or Website that I could find however. Couldn't even find a phone number to call. Write via snail-mail and ask for a catalog. Shouldn't take too long.

er, Dieter, you might reconsider the sixers and look at putting away a few barrels in the basement, along with appropriate tapping equipment instead. Experience says that the cans get flat and even if they don't they get stale...

just a thought, Arlin

Dieter, Sweetie brews his own, and very good it is too. You might want to look into that. You can even grow your own hops.

Michigan Bulb Co.--without putting myself in a position to be sued for libel, I'd suggest you thoroughly check out this company before you buy.

In the SE, Mid-Atlantic--Tuesday is the last day for Winn Dixie's double coupon special.
