Hey Y2K Pro, why was Norm using your e-mail address? <:)=

Sysman, You haven't figured that out yet? I mentioned that several days ago.

Y2K Pro IS Norm!!!

-- @ (@@@.@), March 28, 1999.

"Hey Y2K Pro, why was Norm using your e-mail address? <:)= " No doubt it was you and one of your endless games Sissyman. Java scripts, spoofing e-mail addresses, what's next?

-- Y2K Pro (2@641.com), March 28, 1999.

I know @, I just want to make sure that others here, newbies in particular, know that the troll count isn't as high as it seems. <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 28, 1999.

...finally the Sissyman admits to his misdeads...

-- Y2K Pro (2@641.com), March 28, 1999.

You really are a moron Y2K Pro. I've never posted here as anyone other than Sysman. I believe in what I say and have no reason to hide behind multiple names to try and increase the idiot factor on this forum. Grow up. Better yet, get lost! <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 28, 1999.

If you really want to have fun at someones expense, go to the thread where Y2K Pro proves he is a complete imbecile - or would that be (as GN calls him) "The y2k idiot savant" ?

-- DQS (bye-byeTexas@swbell._), March 28, 1999.

What do you say about this genius:

Norm (2@641.com)

What's the matter, did your multiple-personality get a little confused? Here's the link, so newbies can see for themselves:

Fear and clothing

Say what you want Y2K Pro, I mean Vinnie, I mean Norm, I mean Mutha, I mean IDIOT! The people here know your stupid tricks by now. <:)=

If you had the chance, would you like the opportunity to rephrase this?

Thanks DQS. I really doubt Y2K Pro has reached his 10th birthday yet. No adult could be this dumb. <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 28, 1999.

Well, where are you Y2K Pro? No wise-crack answer after you see the evidence that you screwed-up? Who's the sissy now Norm, I mean Y2K Pro? <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 28, 1999.

"Norm" is starting to get frustrated because reality is destroying his dream world. This is when the vengeful saboteur "Y2K Pro" emerges from his schizoid personality, like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde!

-- @ (@@@.@), March 28, 1999.

yeah, but with Jeckyll and Hyde only one of them acted nasty.

Why, you're the Sissy, Sissyman!

-- Y2K Pro (2@641.com), March 28, 1999.

Once again, your IQ is showing Y2K Pro. <:)=

WARNING! Above post was not done by me. Are you up to your usual tricks, Sissyman?

-- Y2K Pro (2@641.com), March 29, 1999.

Hey Norm or whatever: Now I get-it If I don't get-it, you'll make sure I do get-it and then I won't be a DGI anymore, which means I'll probably GET-IT. Wait just a second here ! Am I supposed to get-it or not? And if I'm not, why are you trying sooo hard to make sure I do....get-it? And if you do....

P.S. Please don't make fun of me

-- spun@lright (mikeymac@uswest.net), March 29, 1999.

I guess I must be SLOW - I just don't get it. I log onto this forum to get info and see what's up with Y2K- I don't agree with everything I see- sometimes I respond- often not. So what? I don't need to agree with everyone. But why, if I didn't have concerns about Y2K would I even bother logging onto this forum in the first place is beyond me. I must be dumb, that's all I can figure. It just makes as much sense to me as logging onto a web site that's devoted to the latest in Soap Opera's or something and trying to convince them that TV is evil....

So Norm, Y2K Pro and the rest of you troll types- why don't you get a life somewhere? And if you really really need something to do- come up this way- I have two barns to clean out, major planting coming up and so on....You seem to have the time on your hands...do something useful besides endless baiting of GI's- or is that a form of mental masturbation for you?

In disgust-

-- anita (hillsidefarm@drbs.com), March 29, 1999.

Anita - your point is exactly why many readers are suspicious about their agenda...what's in it for the trolls (those trying so hard to disrupt, demean, insult and irritate people) that they would work so hard to make life even more difficult for those who are trying to prepare for an uncertain future - and clean barns - and maintain their current life .....

I can't figure them out - and the "I'm trying to protect you from wasting money on Y2K" answer spun out every now and then is ridiculous and so condensending as to be insulting. Each preparing family in this country must be allowed the freedom to spend their own money as they see fit.

Unless the government doesn't want people to spend their own money as they see fit .....

-- Robert A Cook, PE (Kennesaw, GA) (Cook.R@csaatl.com), March 29, 1999.

Norm/sysman is a frustrated little geek, cowering at his keyboard. On the internet he can provoke others in ways that would get his nose broken if he had the balls to do it in person. So naturally, he's terrified of Y2k - it would take away the only "power" he has - and he projects his fear onto those who are taking prudent action to prepare. Unfortunately, this pathetic behavior will bring a lot of misery and death to newbies who might seize on his mindless propaganda as an excuse not to prepare. He ought to be dragged out of his cave and horsewhipped, IMHO; and perhaps, in the aftermath, that will be the best his lying ilk can hope for. God willing.

-Prepared.

-- Prepared (hammering@gallows.com), March 29, 1999.

Hi prepared. I hope you mean Sysman: Norm is... I've been trying to fight fire with fire since he showed up by finding the counter-point to his posts. Some are just non-sense, and I can't find a good response. I wish I had more time. Others are helping in the fight though, so I think we'll succeed in showing others, newbies in particular, that his point of view is rather limited. <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 29, 1999.

Sorry Sysman. Substitute "Norm/Y2kpro" for the error: "Norm/sysman." These things happen when one is sorely wroth. Note to self: "don't get mad - get even."

Really, let's review the purpose of this forum. Anyone who posts "DGIs - Here's a place to have fun at your GI friends expense" is clearly nothing more than a DISRUPTIVE little VANDAL, and his LIES are misleading innocent people who may subsequently DIE. This is a forum for people who are concerned and trying to prepare and help others prepare. "Norm/Y2kAmateur" should be treated like an obnoxious drunk who crashes an AA meeting, or a whore trying to work the church parking lot on a Sunday: his presence here is utterly inappropriate, and the title of this post makes it clear that he is here for no other reason to disrupt and antagonize. He should be banned and his disruptive posts pulled. How about it, Ed? Where do you draw the line? I think "Norm/Y2kLiars" posts are as inappropriate here as any other form of internet vandalism.

My only solace is that a large number of these "don't prepare" shills are going to be flushed out and taken down like the sick animals they are, come Y2k. I'm not joking or exaggerating. People who made careers LYING about Y2k are going to be held accountable for it in the new millenium. There are going to be a huge number of very pissed off people, and before "Norm's" unnatural breed can point them toward "hoarders" and "panic-mongers," I'm going to give them a list of the people in my area who told them to sit down, shut up and stop preparing - right up until the disaster struck. It may be a case of us or them: if you, as a rational, prudent preparer want to keep from being targeted by norm-like liars, you had better single them out for some much-deserved public attention to their false calmative statements. They know what's at stake in the blame game, and so should you. Don't let them turn the tables on you. Don't let them blame the victims, or increase their number. MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE.

Prepared

Very well said, prepared.

-- Lisa (lisa@agreement.here), March 29, 1999.

Ah, yes... Again, we have another die-hard extremist blowhard weigh in with "the death of the masses" rhetoric! HAH!

Lets review, shall we?...
What a perfect MEME, and the Ultimate in thought-policing! LapDog and the others could take lessons from you...
"Unfortunately, this pathetic behavior will bring a lot of misery and death to newbies who might seize on his mindless propaganda as an excuse not to prepare."Oh, yes...I can see it now... millions of folks dropping like flies because moderates say "don't panic"...give me a break.
"and his LIES are misleading innocent people who may subsequently DIE." HAH! again, laughable! Just why, EXACTLY, are people going to die? Because extremists will start blowing away anyone who knocks on their door, post Jan. 1?
"He should be banned and his disruptive posts pulled."Ah, yes. The key to open-mindedness... "censor what we don't like or agree with". YOU....are a chump.
"My only solace is that a large number of these "don't prepare" shills are going to be flushed out and taken down like the sick animals they are, come Y2k. I'm not joking or exaggerating." typical of the 'thin the herd' mentality... and please point out (yet again) where anybody said "don't prepare"?
"People who made careers LYING about Y2k are going to be held accountable for it in the new millenium. There are going to be a huge number of very pissed off people, and before "Norm's" unnatural breed can point them toward "hoarders" and "panic-mongers,"..." New gif Points for originality! (and something I hope becomes commonplace post 2000...only in reality it will be the hucksters who better beat feet for the quickest way out to southern rodesia... and how about including extremists like yourself? shall you be pointed out as well? What about the anti-government types, hmmm?)
"Don't let them turn the tables on you. Don't let them blame the victims, or increase their number. MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE.

Prepared "
That's right... don't let the extremists win on this one... give your friends and family FACTUAL, UP-TO-DATE info...knowledge and reason will prevail

I had to work very hard to convince friends and family members not to over-react to the hype of Y2K. (you will note I did not 'convince them to stop preparing', as someone will no doubt accuse me of saying....yet again!)... A few narrowly avoided taking it in the shorts from early withdrawal of tax exempt accounts, etc. to go buy a place in the boonies because the likes of North, Yourdon, Smith, etc. were putting out various fictions filled with 'could-be', 'might', 'if', and 'maybe's'... some with absolutely NO grounds in reality!
Some will continue to prep, (most were done in less than a month) and a few still might pull their savings, 401k's etc.... but at least they are aware of the agendas of the grifters and will make informed decisions based on FACTS, not hearsay, rumor, or half-truths.

So, 'prepared'...I will definitely take your advice and begin pointing those who do get shafted, grifted and otherwise fleeced; back to the people who did the fleecing et. al.!

and some of you wonder why this BB is labeled as 'cultish'...

-- Mutha Nachu (---@wannabuythebrooklynbridge.forsale), March 29, 1999.

We know you and your friends work very hard at this, Mutha.

You and you know who are the 'die-hard extremists.'

heh heh heh...

you're bustin' my gut, none! lol!

-- Mutha Nachu (---@kissmebig.boy), March 29, 1999.

I just love this one. This is on the home-page of the "Gary North Is A Big Fat Idiot" site, Mutha's hangout:

"Am I just a stupid undergraduate nimrod who's tackling something he can barely understand?"

So let me ask you Mutha, how much programming experience does your web-master have? <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 29, 1999.

M.,

I'm so dazzled by your display of HTML that I ... I just can't respond. I give up. I'm donating my half ton of beans to charity, and turning my means of self-defense into the local police department's guns-for-condoms program. God bless you, M.N.; you saved me from myself.

There's one thing I don't understand, though: by the "anti-government" types that you hope will be rounded up and shot (or whatever), do you mean "Republicans?"

(used to be)Prepared.

Bait & switch alert!

What's up Ref? Afraid to answer the question? I don't think your web-master has a clue. Typical idiot response. Avoid discussing the facts by name-calling. <:)=

Sysman:

For awhile I thought these guys were PR co. shills. But their stupidity would seem to rule that out. What could possibly motivate them?

Prepared

-- Prepared (bewildered@morons.now), March 30, 1999.

Beats me Prepared. I guess they're a bunch of bored teen-agers or college kids looking to cause trouble. <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 30, 1999.

What motivates us trolls? How many times do you have to be told?

To keep your panic from spreading to the general population. Emergency preparation is good, but most here recommend overdoing it.

-- doomslayer (1@2.3), March 30, 1999.

There's no such thing as overdoing it doomslayer. What's your problem? Food, fuel, water - all will still be good even if "nothing" happens. Your argument just doesn't cut it. Better to have too much than not enough my friend. <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 30, 1999.

And that's exactly what's bothering the Trolls, they are losing the battle of opinions. More and more people are preparing, and becoming concerned about y2k, not less people like they feel should be. The last poll I saw says that 20% of the US population is preparing, and over half think the banking system will crash and burn. It's driving the poor trolls nuts.... BWAH HA HA HA

-- Troll Killer (under@theBridge.com_), March 30, 1999.

"Typical idiot response. Avoid discussing the facts by name-calling. <:)=3 "

And yet another moron speaks. <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 30, 1999.

How long have you been here sysman? You obviously haven't read through the archives. The majority opinion on this board has been way more than food, fuel, and water for a long time.

Here's the advice that has been given out here over the last year or so: -get guns -get out of the city -take all your money out of the bank -don't trust anyone -prepare defenses for your bunker

I'm sure I left something out. Care to add any?

-- doomslayer (1@2.3), March 30, 1999.

Doomsayer, I am so immensely proud of the moderates here who turn the other cheek when you commence to gun-nut blathering....

Instead of back-handing you, which you so richly deserve....

I could refer you to countless threads where participants agonize over the health & safety of the general populace.... you'd dismiss them as boring, though.........

-- Lisa (oh@man.painful), March 30, 1999.

Ok doomslayer, we do have a few here that are extreme, but I think a very small minority. Let's look at a few of your points:

Get guns. My housemate does security work and has been licensed to carry for years. If TSHTF, I'll feel much better with him around.

Get out of the city. If I did live in a city, I think I would leave for a while, until we see how things shake out. Again, if TSHTF, it would not be a fun place to be.

Take all your money out of the bank. No, but I plan to have enough to make sure I can survive for a year. Remember the S&L failures? Many people had to wait a full year to get all their money. If "nothing" happens, I've lost some interest. Big deal.

Don't trust anyone. I don't have much faith in the reports from the .gov because I believe they are trying to aviod panic. Same idea for big business. I'll believe it when I see it.

You forgot buy a generator. We did in Jan. after 18 hours with no power during a snow storm, with 10 degree weather outside. A couple of kero heaters just didn't do it. We get hit with every other snow and thunder storm, sometimes for an hour or 2, sometimes much longer. Spent 10 hours last summer manually pumping out the sump after a good storm. No fun. Best investment we've made in a while.

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 30, 1999.

PS - For what it's worth, I've been programming for 31 years. <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 30, 1999.

Come on, Robert.

The government thinks our money, is their money, to spend any way they see fit!

Theyll do the preparing for us, and then encourage public gratitude for being so farsighted, all the while moving many into high school shelters, for our own good, when and if basic services are disrupted.

Nice little voters ... just do as we say, not as we do.

They support being in dependence rather than Independent. Too uncontrollable, and unpredictable by far.

*Sigh*

BTW, Sysman ...

Is it worth your time and energy to be constantly in battle with the troll-lets? Seems a waste, IMHO.

Diane

-- Diane J. Squire (sacredspaces@yahoo.com), March 30, 1999.

Hi Diane. I don't mind a little debate with someone that seems to have some smarts and doesn't get disrespectful. I know it's a hopeless cause, but at least it keeps a little balance here. As for some of the morons here, I just enjoy telling them to go **** off I guess. See ya! <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 30, 1999.

So sysman, you said...

"You forgot buy a generator. "

So, what took you so long. If I lived in a place where power outages were frequent, I would have gotten a generator long ago.

-- doomslayer (1@2.3), March 30, 1999.

That's a great question doomslayer. We never really thought of it before we became Y2K aware. After considering possible Y2K power failures, we figured we were already in that boat! So for us, it's a good decision, Y2K or not. Any comments on my reply to some of your other points? <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 30, 1999.

Yeah, sysman, you don't seem to be a 10 doomer.

There are doomers out there who would call you a polly.

ROFL

There's hope for you yet!

-- doomslayer (1@2.3), March 30, 1999.

I'm about a 6-7 doomslayer. Many here are in the same range. I'm trying to find enough "good news" to push my number down, but haven't found it yet. <:)=
