Test Shots, Olympus D-500L vs D620L

In comparing the test shots indoor and macro between the D-500L and D-620L, it appears that the D-500L shots have better brightness and possibly better color balance? Could this be a function of the larger image size from the D-620L (same lens, same light spread over a larger area), or what? Do you see the difference? I am currently using the D-500L for general family, sports, action and also for "semi-professional" product/catalog/technical report uses at work, in that case mostly in macro mode. I have 43mm close-up filters for the really close-up stuff and am generally happy with current performance except for focusing difficulties if the lighting is not just right. Am thinking of upgrading to the D-620L for the improved focusing/action shot capabilities (less delay time) as well as the battery saving feature (the D-500L eats them up), but I do not want to sacrifice basic image quality.
