Books from the drug store.

Check out your local pharmacy for some good medical and dietary books. We found a rack full of what seem to be very comprehensive medical and dietary paperbacks, at Rite Aid Pharmacy. All in the 6 to 10 dollar range.

Here's a list of what we bought.

Melatonin (The Anti-Aging Hormone.) Gingo Biloba (An Herbal Fountain of Youth for your brain.) Natural Medicine for Colds and Flu. How to Control High Blood Pressure Without Drugs. Food; Your Miracle Medicine. Protein Power. Medicinal Uses of Herbs. (Or words to that extent... My neighbor has borrowed it already.)

There are also a PDR, some weight loss diet books, and others available on the rack.

Some of the titles are rather esoteric but I feel as though we're going through a great awakening. Never got into it before but its all very facinating now. Y2K is a great teacher and it seems, like my grandmother used to say, that "if it doesn't kill you, it'll cure you.". Me.

Floyd,

Be extremely careful of the claims in those books. There is NO RULE about the truth or accuracy of claims for diet supplements in the publishing industry. Read with healthy scepticism, and refer to both Gray's Anatomy and a Merc Manual for the physiology (functions) of the various systems before you accept many of the claims. Also, pick up a VERY expensive A & P book (Anatomy and Physiology) from a nursing school book store to compare things against.

Hi Floyd: Just a reminder, Michael Colgan (http://www.hlthmall.com/healthmall/colgan/)is IMHO the best up-to-date source for health advice. See "Optimum Sports Nutrition", and "Hormonal Health". I am at almost 56 yrs old continuing to improve by following his advice. Keep working at it.... Curtis
