greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I am in dire need of an ohio link for utilities and any contigency plans available. Do ANY of us Ohioans have any plans as far as community involvement? I need info asap, as I was given the pleasure of reporting for our church. We are FINALLY GI's......But I do need help. Please if anyone can, anything let me know. What I have is not sufficient. THANK YOU

Consumer,

There are 11 Ohio community preparedness groups at this link:

Just scroll down!

Not utilities, sorry... and I don't know how to do links, but of interest to you is a place you can check on your state's level of compliance at:

Consumer, I have tried e-mailing the lists of several local community groups. None of the groups are from the immediate Cleveland area. Most are from the far west sub-urbs (Lorain, etc.) or far east. To date, I have not heard from any of them. Not sure why. Care to e-mail me privately? I may be interested in your church group. Thanks.

Consumer,

There's an Ohio Year 2000 Competency Center site at http://www.oy2k.state.oh.us/ that seems to be official. (It's the Ohio link on the U.S. General Services Administration's list of Y2k links to state and local governments at http://www.itpolicy.gsa.gov/mks/yr2000/state.htm)

From that page, clicking on "Status" (on the left side menu), then "How Ohio Agencies are Responding", then "Public Utilities Commission" brings one to a page of PUCO info that includes e-mail addresses of PUCO Y2k project managers and a link to a PUCO Y2k site with more potentially useful links.

You are ALL truely wonderful. Thanks for the links, I did email one Fred Dowdy who simply referred me back to the ohio site. Do you have a link to the Ohio Emergency contigency thingy? I know, my grammar leaves much to be desired.
