The latest U.S. Senate report on y2k includes a section on utilities. You can get it at:

Matthew, if you read all the questions and postings on this site, including the older ones going back more than a year, and also read the Editorials, Newsroom postings and Guest Commentaries, you'll get a very good overview of all the pros and cons about Y2K and utilities from just about every aspect you can think of. (And perhaps some you wouldn't have considered.) Plus you'll find so many links to info of all kinds, you'll probably be sorry you asked! *grin*

Bonnie is absolutely right MJ, this site is tops on the internet to read diverse views on the effects of Y2K on electric utilities. You should visit www.nrc.gov and check their y2k links - Nuclear Power Plant Computers link, also www.nei.org,www.nerc.com. I also am a big fan of www.zdy2k.com. But check all the links in posts on this site to get other views:)
