Epson Photo PC 750 Z compared to Olympus D 400 Z

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

These two cameras are about the same price and have many similar features. I am trying to chose one of these to purchase to be used for ordinary family, sport, etc. prints, both indoor and outdoor exposures. I have a Mac Performa 6400/200 computer and an Epson Photo 700 printer. I would appreciate any advice from anyone who has examined both of these cameras. Thanks, G

I have been a fan of Olympus for some time, however, I just returned my new D400Z and am now looking at the Epson 750Z and Kodak DC240. The Olympus was a good camera but had a problem capturing magentas. For example, my wife's hot pink blouse was navy blue in the pic. Purple violets in our yard were the same blue. No matter what conditions or settings. Our old Oly320 did not have this problem and we are now very disappointed in Olympus for letting this slip.

I am very happy with my Epson 750Z camera. I have a simular set up to yours. I have a Photo 700 printer on a mac 7600. I also have a photo 750 printer on my pentium machine. One thing you will want to get for your setup is software called PhotoPrinter from ArcSoft. It comes with the Photo 750 printer and is great for being able to take full advantage of your paper when you print!
