Real Time Chat, IRC, is there a Y2K forum there?

Hi Folks,

Years ago I used Internet Relay Chat a bit but got bored with it, is there is Y2K forum there these days?, If so I would dust off the software and get connected. There seems to be a fair few people here even at (for the US, it's 17.25 in Aus) a fairly late hour.

As I remember, if you misstyped a (channel?) name it sort of got created, you were the only one in it but then others could join, anybody know anything about it?

You can download Mirc which is the preferred client for accessing the IRC servers. For MacIntosh users, get Ircle.

With mirc, one can do a search for any channel which may have y2k in it's channel name. I will do one just to see. And yes, if you type a channel name incorrectly, it will begin a new channel with you as the only one there. Channels disappear when the last person logs off. IRC is THE chat place on the internet. Thousands and thousands of chatters 24/7. Undernet and Dalnet and EFnet are the 3 main nets to look into.

ok, i did find one with 9 users there on the undernet. it is called simply "y2k" without the quotes.

Most nights from 6:30pm EST you can find a y2k chat using any java enabled browser (both java and java script must be enabled) at:

You might even find Cory Hamasaki there on Tuesday evenings.
