greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

To all Readers, My question is for the Forestry Dept guys, who read this forum. With whom will the Forestry Dept be attached to when the situation comes up with martial law implications ?

How will these guys be of help ? Will they be part of the National Guard ? FEMA ? UN ? .............

Has anyone any info about this ??? Reason for my question is : My brother-in law is part of the forestry and is definately a DGI . Any answers for me ????

thanks.

Is the Forestry Department part of the Department of Agriculture, or the Department of the Interior?

In any case, many of these folks are out of touch, and largely on their own, for periods of time. They may get a call to join up with some other government agency, but it might take a while before anyone noticed if your brotherin-law had gone AWOL...

They better tear off their patches and "attach" to the civilian population.

The U. S. Department of Fish and Wildlife is under The Department of the Interior. So I think it would follow that the Forestry Department is too. But,that is a logical assumption and we ARE dealing with the govt. (:-

I thought I'd have more responses but that's ok ! I did see that the Forestry Dept is part of the Dept of Agriculture. Ed, thanks for responding, my brother-in-law is all GOVT, hardly a AWOL person, oh,by the way it was great hearing you speaking at the recent conference.

Furrie: Brother-in-law is going to be dead meat if TSHTF and he is "all government."

A lot of desperate people will be in "Big Brother's" forest/park, and will not take kindly to your "little brother" telling them they're over their limit for spotted owls or whatever.
