Polaroid SprintScan 35 Plus or better film scanner

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I want to buy a very good 35mm film scanner under $1500. I have been most interested in the Polaroid SprintScan 35 Plus (2700dpi, 36 bit, 3.4 dynamic range). Have read some reviews of it. I really like the in-depth coverage of the Imaging Resource reviews but am disappointed there is no review yet of the Polaroid although it has been on the market for a while. I was impressed by the review of the Minolta Dimage Scan Speed which has nearly identical specs to the Polaroid. Would like any input on how these two compare for quality, user interface, flexibility of software, etc. Also any other recommendations or experience from anyone who has been down this road.

all I can tell you that BH photo they told me that Poloroid print scan was better than everything on the market till Nikon came out with the LS2000. Althought I am impressed with the Nikon I like the review on the Minolta Speed Scan. Right now you can buy both for about 1100. The sprint scan might be on the way out because Poloroid just came out with one that has 4000 resolution. Good luck
