Nikon 950 and compact flash type II (IBM micro drive)?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Is the new Nikon Coolpix 950 will be able to host the new IBM microdrive (340MB) compact flash type II?

If no, why please?

Thanks a lot Francois

nope, too big for the slot. :) I think 128MB compact flash cards were recently announced.

The size is the problem, the CompactFlash type II is larger (bulky), and the only digital camera on the market currently supporting this type of memory is the Canon PowerShot Pro 70. There are a few manufacturers shown interest in this new type of storage media, but nobody else but Canon Pro 70 is capable of using it now.
