I am looking for Order number data for various southeastern railroads. The order number is stamped in the frame on the Right end of both sides of the locomotive. It is usually between the steps and the first handrail post on both GPs and SWs. I especially need data from Lancaster & Chester and Birmingham Southern, but am interested in data from any road, large or small. I am compiling a master builders list of all EMD units, to be posted on the web.

You may have found this by now but look at: http://www.railspot.com/gif/railspot/msql/engine.html for frame numbers. They have the data for L&C but not BS.
