Taken last May in Jasper. At that time the animals do not change the winter coat completely yet, and look a bit shaggy. Still, if they are willing to pose...

Andrei,

If only the tip of that horn would disappear BEHIND his nose!

Other than that a great shot that, to my taste, could be cropped a bit on the right.

Fine shot with a difficult pose. Cocking his head more straight ahead to block the other horn creates too much of a mugshot pose. It would be better if sheeps' head were turned a little more towards you to get more of the other horn exposed, and possibly isolate the face from the left horn. Great control of the background to minimize highlights, but to include some variation to create a little action in the image. Cropping the image on the right would take away some of the bull's eye effect of the sheep's eye in the image.

Andrei, I love the image and the way it is captured. The extra space to the right does not bother me, however, the tip of the horn (as Frank mentioned) takes away a little from a well composed and well exposed image. good luck.

Thanks for the comments, guys. And yes, I completely agree, the horn merger is annoying. Missed it in the viewfinder... As for the cropping, personally I like it more cropped from sides to 8x10 print size.

On the side, this was shot on Kodachrome 200. I can not quite make up my mind about that film. It is a pain to process (no Kodachrome labs left in Canada!), but the color pallette is nice, and for some reason I have an impression that it is sharper than 100-speed E-6 films... Maybe I should buy a brick or two and see if it grows on me... What do you think?

Excellent eye detail. Great shot!

I agree with the comments about the horn tip. Pose is nice. Background neutral. I find the lighting a bit flat on the animal though. I think it would be really great if the light had a bit more punch.
