The Candle Corporation (a Coalition 2000 participant) will be hosting a free workshop on April 13-14 in Santa Monica, CA on their Millennium Management Blue Print. They are looking for participation from those of us involved at the policy level, as emergency managers, and as neighborhood or community organizers. The workshop is intended to be educational but will also help shape and define the final product. The first day will cover policy issues and emergency management while the second would address community issues and neighborhood organizing. Participants can attend either or both days.

I have reviewed their documentation and must say that this is the best and most organized effort I've seen. With our help they can complete this as the "whole package" needed for local government Y2K risk and consequence management. The final product will be made available freely to the public through the internet as well as other media.

The workshop is free but you will need to cover your personal travel and expenses. If you are interested in attending please contact Deborah Kelfer at Deborah_Kelfer@candle.com with your complete contact information including mailing address, phone, fax, and preferred e-mail.
