Do you know why Avid dominates? Because studio guys want a return on the dollar and don't want to take any risks so they specify Avid all the time. That's how they can afford to show up at festivals all the time and spend big bucks. But a B&W G3 400 is all you need to edit on and use Final Cut Pro as software. You'll be fine. Brian
