Diane, paging Diane re. Art Bell

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Hi Diane. I just noticed your reply in my inbox about the Art Bell show you listened to. Since I posted it as "no text" I doubt many people even looked at it. I do think this is important, and think you should start a new thread on this, IMHO <:)=

PS - Is your email address real, and if so, how can I get your attention if needed, with the flood you must have? <:)=

How about posting it....is it the solar flares?

Just tried to do a search on artbell.com about the body bags comments...but found no text referenced in the site search or in the summaries.

Sounded interesting.

Hi Mr. K. I only heard the first 2 hours of the show. Stay tuned - our #1 news hound is on to something! <:)=

PS - Haven't seen you for a while, but it could be me.

Hi, Sysman.

I just listened to the entire show, and can confirm the comment about the body bags, although I didn't get the exact time for it.

I was wondering if Diane could comment on in item in the second hour. At 1:47 into the show, Hugh Simpson describes an Executive Order which, during a declared emergency, requires everyone to report to the nearest Post Office, turn in their car keys and credit cards, and receive an assignment to a shelter.

He said he recalled hearing about it a couple years ago, but could not be more specific.

The whole show, after the first hour (miscellaneous news items), was very interesting, regarding y2k and solar flares, and recommendations about safe areas of the country.

It can be heard at the following site:

Hi Mabel. I heard that too, about the car keys and credit cards. We do have an EO dude here (or Kevin?), maybe he'll see this. If not, I'll try to find more info tomorrow (got to hit the sack). <:)=

****Glad he lives where he lives and the Post Office is WAY far away***

Mr. K

PS - Been out of the loop for a while - working 16 hours a day on y2k related projects for the past 3 1/2 weeks. Going in tomorrow morning for "the meeting" and preliminary reports. The year looks pretty weary, if nothing else ;-}

[NSP fights off snorts of laughter]

Anyone who's actually taken the trouble to read real EOs knows right away without having to doublecheck that no real EO would specify that everyone "report to the nearest Post Office, turn in their car keys and credit cards, and receive an assignment to a shelter."

>He said he recalled hearing about it a couple years ago, but could not be more specific.

See -- this "Hugh Simpson" (you sure his name wasn't Homer?) only "recalled" "hearing about it". Of COURSE he could not be more specific!!! No more specifics exist, because _no such EO exists_.

Now, everyone be sure to notice --> Will anyone who challenges my statement provide any evidence to the contrary by citing a specific EO that "requires everyone to report to the nearest Post Office, turn in their car keys and credit cards, and receive an assignment to a shelter"? [snort]

The EO you're talking about requires the Post Office to register citizens. Period. No car keys or credit cards involved.

Don't believe everything you hear and only half of what you see.

The mention of car keys is scary. I was reading the recommended list from the WI site and it mentions an extra set of car keys. I wonder...

Sysman,

Yes the "e" is quite real.

Sometimes when searching for info leads and clues, you have to look in the "out-of-the-way" locations. When I heard the body bag comment, it just turned on a light bulb.

Diane

(P.S. I have no idea about the E.O. and car keys/credit cards. The idea is a tad over the top, IMHO. However, we've been surprised before at the absurdity of the dot gov types).

Gee, Craig, and you thought the people here were paranoid. Looks to me like the general concensus was kinda like yours. Maybe you're not such a bad fit after all ;-)

BTW, since reading up the Alberta thread, I'm feeling much more hopeful about seeing a 5 here. Still prepping, though. I'd rather be prepped and foolish than not prepped and foolish.
