Do you know what year the southern began using the black, gold and white scheme? Also, what engines wore the old green and gold scheme? Thanks

The Black, Imitation aluminum (not white), and gold scheme began with the delivery of the SD24's in 1959. It was actually introduced in 1958. All units wore the green, imitation aluminum, and dulux gold (yellow) before that (actually from 1949 till 1958).
