bruges

Just been to bruges in Belgium, didn't ask about y2k, not sure of the frog for annee deux milles, however all the shops have dual pricing in euros/francs NB there is no "e" euro sign on this keyboard, come to think of it there is no "any key" yes bruges has great bistros, canal trips, horse and carriage rides (with an ingenious device to stop the horse "*****ing* on the streets), polite belgians, no graffitti, no shaven or baseball capped youth, over there they do not have youth cults as in britain or the US, just young adults oh yes and hundreds of choccy shops

Sir Richard,

You are forgetting their best export - Stella Artois!!!, I spent a coupla years working for SNCF in Lille just across the border, great memories, did you also check out the frittes avec mayonnaise and the seafood shells - can't remember what they're called ---

Later, Andy

P.S.

dark chocolate is my downfall! and bruges is the place to do it!!!

Ah, yes--Bruges. I was there years ago, alone, and only for one afternoon and evening. One of the most beautiful towns I've ever seen. If Y2K doesn't do us in, I expect I'll take my wife there someday. Another good reason to hope for the best in the coming months...
