How come Imaging Resource does not review Sony cameras?

We've been chasing Sony for over a year now, to get them to participate. Sony is an unusual company, in that responsibility for marketing the digicams is spread across three different divisions, which has prolonged the decision-making process. Our site uses an ENORMOUS amount of bandwidth for all the sample images (over 60 gigabytes last month alone!), so we require the manufacturers to support their cameras by covering bandwidth costs. While a small amount of money relative to say, a print ad, this nonetheless takes us out of the "no brainer, give these guys a camera" category, and makes us a budget item, however small. (Silly, but there you are.) After a recent re-organization, we're hopeful that Sony may finally be coming around. Stay tuned, I'm hopeful we'll have Sony gear here within the next few months. (It's not just Sony, by the way: You'll note that Epson and Ricoh are also not represented. Fuji finally just got on board this month, and we're expecting our first review units from them momentarily. We're continuing to work on Epson and Ricoh. Meanwhile, our bandwidth usage for this month looks to be heading north of 80 Gigabytes...)

sony is perpetually a generation behind in their offerings anyway. The big news was their recent announcement of a 1.3 megapix camera soon to come! ooh, ahh. Some people seem happy with the 700 model tho.

Hi - I'm looking for any reviews I can find on the Sony DSC-D700. Do you have any links. Any help would be great. By the way I sure am impressed with your site. Thanks for being here. Jerry Reynolds

Sony D700 looks like a very solid built product. I do not have one yet, but I will have one very soon and I will keep my Mavica FD-91 too (I love ease of data transfer to PC, picture quality is good at XGA). Some people just want to complain, specially if they don't like the product manufacturer for whatever reason that might be. I really hope to see an article about Sony for head to head comaprison against Canon pro70, and Oly C-2000 & more. I do have a Nikon Coolpix, I am not very happy with it, but I do not trash the product, since it does have some qualities as well as some weaknesses. I have heard about the 2+ MegaPixell camera by Sony (under R & D at this time). I don't care how much someone dislikes a brand name, Sony as well as Canon, Nikon, Olympus have done a good job in their core design. These are quality built products, fine tuned for specific purpose, if the user is not smart enough to differentiate that, it is not the manufacturer's fault.
