Today there is a "National Y2K Symposium" at the National Cathedral, of which I found out about too late. The Preparedness Expo I went to was a lot of fun. Lots of dried food vendors, etc. Some prices were good. A good place to buy stuff like pails of wheat to avoid the expensive shipping charges. Lots of Bible-thumpers. Bizarre foods and medical devices. Some really neat portable wood cookstoves. A militia group was recruiting. Alltogether, a real trail mix. I planned to spend an hour and stayed there all afternoon.
